Gynaecologist's
Appointment
The experienced specialists at
Next Fertility Nordic offer a personalised
approach, modern diagnostics and
effective treatment options.

Are you looking for an experienced gynaecologist who makes you feel comfortable and listened to? At Next Fertility Nordic, women of all ages are welcome to book an appointment with a gynaecologist, whether you would like to have a routine gynaecological check-up, have a specific concern, or would like advice on planning a pregnancy and fertility.

Our gynaecologists provide personalised counselling, modern diagnostics and a comprehensive approach to women’s reproductive health. If necessary, a gynaecological ultrasound can be performed, samples can be taken, and further examinations and treatment can be planned.

It is also worth visiting a gynaecologist even if you have no specific symptoms. Regular gynaecological check-ups can help detect possible changes and health problems at an early stage.

When should you see a gynaecologist?

A gynaecological appointment may be recommended, for example, if:

  • your menstrual cycle is irregular or has changed;
  • your periods are very painful or heavy;
  • you experience lower abdominal pain or other gynaecological symptoms;
  • you have unusual vaginal discharge, itching or discomfort;
  • you would like to have a gynaecological check-up or a PAP test;
  • you suspect a sexually transmitted infection;
  • you are planning a pregnancy and would like to have your health checked;
  • you have been trying to conceive without success;
  • you would like to assess your fertility;
  • you have been diagnosed with or suspect endometriosis, PCOS or another gynaecological condition.

In addition to routine gynaecology, our specialists also provide fertility assessment and infertility treatment, so if necessary, you can continue with further examinations and treatment at the same clinic.

    How to prepare for a gynaecologist’s appointment?

    No special preparation is required for a gynaecological appointment, but to make the visit as smooth as possible, it is helpful to think beforehand about important information related to your health.

    If possible, make a note of or remember:

    • which medications and supplements you are currently taking;
    • whether you use hormonal medication, such as contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy;
    • the length and regularity of your menstrual cycle;
    • the first day of your last menstrual period;
    • the duration of your periods and your usual amount of menstrual bleeding;
    • previous pregnancies, births and miscarriages;
    • previously diagnosed gynaecological conditions and surgeries;
    • any known allergies to medications or other substances;
    • previous important examinations and test results, if available;
    • significant diseases and risk factors in your family, such as cancer or thrombosis.

    If you are coming to the appointment because of difficulties conceiving or to have your fertility assessed, it is also useful to discuss how long you have been trying to conceive, what examinations or treatments have been carried out previously, and whether your partner has experienced any fertility-related problems.

    What happens during a gynaecologist’s appointment?

    The content of the appointment depends on your symptoms, health condition and the purpose of your visit. If necessary, a gynaecological examination and ultrasound scan may be performed, and you may be referred for additional blood tests or other examinations.

    At Next Fertility Nordic, you can receive help with a range of women’s health and reproductive health concerns:

    • gynaecological check-up and ultrasound examination
    • PAP test / cervical cell sample
    • sexually transmitted infection testing
    • recommendations and guidance regarding hormone tests
    • counselling on family planning and contraception
    • fertility assessment
    • investigation of the causes of infertility and difficulties conceiving
    • early pregnancy ultrasound scan
    • OSCAR test and fetal anatomy ultrasound scan

      Gynaecologist and fertility assessment

      If you are planning to become pregnant in the near future or have already been trying for some time, a gynaecological appointment can be a good place to start assessing your fertility.

      Fertility can be affected by a number of factors, including age, ovarian reserve and egg quality, ovulation disorders, endometriosis, PCOS, hormonal changes, the condition of the fallopian tubes, as well as the partner’s fertility.

      During a fertility assessment, various aspects of reproductive health can be evaluated and, if necessary, further examinations can be planned. If you have been unable to conceive, your gynaecologist can help identify possible causes and recommend the next steps.
