Next Fertility Nordic performs pregnancy scans using ultrasound machines. Foetal ultrasound identifies single and multiple pregnancies, evaluates foetal heartbeat, foetal age and growth, and assesses the placenta and amount of amniotic fluid. We also offer the OSCAR test, NIPTIFY test and anatomy scans.
- From week 6 to 9 of pregnancy, ultrasound scans can detect the presence of a foetal heartbeat and the number of foetuses in the uterus.
- From week 11 of pregnancy, an OSCAR test can be performed with a blood test to analyse placental proteins followed by an ultrasound examination from week 12. The test measures the risk of foetal chromosomal disease and assesses the risk of pre-eclampsia, foetal growth restriction and pre-term labour. The NIPTIFY test is also available.
- From week 20 to 21 of pregnancy, an anatomy scan can be performed.
- The Doctors and Midwives may recommend additional scans.
Foetal scans are done by our ultrasound specialist, Dr Silja Ostrat. We also provide pregnancy monitoring with our experienced Midwives.
