The package for an initial visit to the fertility doctor includes a consultation and an ultrasound scan. During the initial visit, additional tests and analyses are ordered.

The patient and their partner are welcome to attend the first visit together or the female partner alone.

After the initial visit, you will receive feedback on what may be causing your infertility and what your treatment options and future plans are.

    What are the treatment options?

Depending on the cause of infertility, intrauterine insemination (IUI), in vitro fertilisation (IVF/ICSI), the use of donor gametes or gamete freezing may help. In addition, we offer a range of additional support services such as IVF counselling, psychological counselling, genetic counselling and nutritional counselling.

      • Use of donor sperm in the case of male azoospermia (complete absence of sperm).
      • Certain genetically inherited diseases in the male partner (which cannot be prevented by embryo diagnosis and requires the use of donor sperm).

IVF, or in vitro fertilisation, is one of the most widely used fertility treatments in the world, where egg fertilisation and embryo development take place in a laboratory. It involves ovarian stimulation, ultrasound monitoring, ovarian puncture, in vitro fertilisation either by IVF (classical) or ICSI (micro-injection of sperm into the oocyte), embryo culture in an EmbryoScope incubator, embryo transfer into the uterus.

In vitro fertilisation and its success are individual and depend on the causes of the infertility. On average, around 30% of procedures are successful.

The IVF method is indicated in the following cases:

      • Fallopian tube abnormalities or lack of patency.
      • Abnormalities in the quality of the sperm.
      • Testicular sperm (TESE) requires the ICSI procedure.
      • Repeat failure of IUI attempts.
      • Inherited genetic disease and indication for (Pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT)
      • Use of frozen oocytes that have previously been stored for fertility preservation.

The use of donor oocytes is indicated when a woman has a very low chance of conception with her own oocytes due to very low reserve or age-related barriers. IVF with donor eggs involves fertilisation and embryo cultivation of donor eggs in the laboratory, with the developing embryo being transferred into the womb of the intended mother.

This procedure is indicated for the following reasons:

      • Women who have a reduced number or quality of their own eggs. In general, all women >43 years of age.
      • Patients who have a low or no chance of conception, for example, absence of ovaries or follicles.
      • Early premature or early ovarian failure.
      • Repeat failure of IVF methods.
      • Women with an inherited genetic disorder, which cannot be prevented by preimplantation genetic testing (PGT).
      • Other reasons.

      Maintaining fertility

      Price from: 1500€

      • Electronic identification RI Witnessing
      • Ovarian puncture under anaesthesia
      • Oocyte freezing
      • Frozen oocyte storage in Next Fertility Nordic’s biobank (2 months storage included)

Fertility preservation, i.e. the storage of frozen eggs, is recommended for women who wish to postpone family planning. If a child cannot be conceived naturally at a later age, it is possible to use these previously frozen own oocytes, and fertilise them in the lab (in vitro fertilisation, IVF).

Freezing eggs does not guarantee a baby, but the use of eggs that were frozen at a younger age significantly increases the success of the future IVF treatment and the likelihood of a healthy baby.

This procedure is indicated for the following reasons:

      • Women who wish to postpone motherhood for medical, personal or professional reasons.
      • Women who wish to become mothers after the age of 40, for personal or private reasons.
      • Women who do not have a suitable partner but wish to become mothers in the future.
      • Women with low ovarian reserve or, for example, patients diagnosed with endometriosis affecting the quantity and quality of oocytes.
      •  Prior to receiving radiotherapy or chemotherapy, as the treatment is likely to affect the quality of the oocytes.
