Next Fertility Nordic has a large selection of donor eggs and donor sperm to help those considering using donor gametes for their treatment. Thanks to our active donation programme, we have our own egg bank and sperm bank. Next Fertility Nordic has extensive experience in freezing and storing gametes and embryos. In order to preserve the gametes, they are stored in cryopreservation tanks. The tanks are filled with liquid nitrogen to maintain a stable temperature of -196°. Modern freezing methods ensure high cell viability. Our clinic cooperates with other medical institutions both in Estonia and abroad, and we help to organise the transport of biological material to a clinic of the patient’s choice.
Next Fertility Nordic egg bank and sperm bank offer a wide selection and therefore will readily provide suitable donor gametes.
Sourcing donor gametes is easy
The donor coordinator assists in the selection of donor gametes and a suitable donor is usually found quickly. If necessary, donor gametes can also be ordered from Next Fertility Nordic and delivered to another fertility treatment centre. We help organise the transport. We cooperate with other Next Fertility recognized donor gamete banks: IMER and Ceifer. We also work with Fairfax Cryobank, Cryos International and the European Sperm Bank. In Estonia, the donation of eggs and sperm is anonymous. Fertility treatment with donor sperm and donor eggs may be performed on women up to and including 50 years of age.

Who are the donors?
Next Fertility Nordic egg donors are healthy women (mostly aged between 20 and 32) and sperm donors are healthy men (mostly aged between 20 and 35), and each donor has undergone a thorough health examination. All of our egg and sperm donors have been pre-counselled and genetically tested (karyotype, genetic disease carriers) and tested for infectious diseases (HIV, HBV, HCV, Syphilis, Chlamydia, Neisseria Gonorrhoeae, Trichomonas vaginalis, HSV2 IgG, CMV IgG, HTLV-1and HTLV- 2). In Estonia, gamete donation is anonymous and only the following information is published about the donor: nationality, education, marital status, skin colour, height and build, hair and eye colour, and whether the donor has any children. In Estonia, the use of donor cells in fertility treatment is regulated by the Artificial Insemination and Embryo Protection Act.
Preservation of embryos
The clinic’s biobank allows the patient to freeze and store embryos. Good-quality embryos developed during fertility treatment can be frozen and stored for up to 7 years. Frozen embryos can be thawed at an appropriate time and used in the frozen embryo transfer (FET) procedure.
Freezing and storage of eggs and sperm
The biobank also provides an opportunity to freeze and store your own eggs or sperm. This is done for both medical and social reasons. Medical indications: e.g. before chemotherapy or radiation treatment (to be agreed with the treating physician), or when the man or woman has a tendency towards the lowered quality of eggs or sperm. Social reasons: lack of a suitable partner, desire to have biological offspring at a later age. Contact us to freeze your eggs or sperm.
Fertility treatment can also be performed with full donation, if necessary, which means that the patient can use both donor sperm and donor eggs from our biobank.
